Excitement is in the air for this annual party in the park for adults and children to celebrate the relationships we share with our most loyal of friends — DOGS? Friends for Life Animal Rescue’s annual BARKtoberfest event is coming up soon at the Gilbert Town Center (southeast corner of Gilbert and Warner roads). This is a free event, although some activities require a small donation to participate. Enjoy shopping, fine arts and crafts, live entertainment, dog wash, Lure Course, dog art (DOGvinci), dog adoptions, raffles, contests for pet and owner look-a-like, best trick and costumes, plus much more. Funds raised from the event aid in saving the lives of homeless dogs and cats in our community. Those who have adopted a dog from Friends for Life will participate in the can’t-miss Alumni Parade at noon. For a detailed schedule of events, see attached. Friends for Life Animal Rescue, located at 143 W. Vaughn Ave. in Gilbert, is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit, volunteer-run, no-kill shelter dedicated to ending the suffering of homeless dogs and cats in our community.
